such a mystery...

Look what I spotted. I think this is the same truck and now it has even more machines in it. Who is the mystery driver and where is he headed? Inquiring minds want to know...

I could swear I had a skanky

old egg crate foam pad just like the one protecting the
Vis-A-Matic from the corner of that World Pool. What's that bungee hooked too? That tailgate better not be down, mister.
You'll be one plucked Roadrunner if it is!! :>) Four Star,
Four Star; where fore art thou???????????

Matched Set

The dryer in the picture is a 1952, with blue accents and a white plastic knob with a silver pointer.
The Kenmore on the truck is a 53 with black and silver accents. The next year's model was black with gold accent and more heavily laden in geegaws. I love the old lid on this Kenmore which reminds me of the lid on the Atlantis set I owned.

Well, by now....

...you all must know who is the Kenmore crazy wacko in So. Cal! I made it home with 4 wonderful, beautiful machines thanks to Kelly in Seattle for all his help in not only getting them for me but also storing them for a good two months before I was able to make the journey north.

I came home with a beautiful bolt down with suds saver and I believe one of Sears first VisaMatic wringer machines. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I love the style (fatness) of the wringer. It's all together minus a motor which I will start looking for.

I started cleaning up the bolt down this afternoon but alas I had spent too much time on another machine and I had to stop but took a pic of it. It runs beautifully but haven't hooked up hoses to it as yet. Also have to make a cement pad for it but in the meantime will sit on it if I have to!

I love it! And a tremendous thanks to you Kelly for your warm hospitality, your help and efforts extended on my behalf, and just being a great guy. I'm sending off a note in the mail to you the first part of next week.

And then.....

...thanks to Patrick, a member in Portland and another great guy, he and I were both able to get some machines we really wanted and reduce our collections of some we weren't that interested in. I had a bunch of 118's that he wanted and he had a certain 56 Whirlpool that I wanted. Well..........he's happy and I'm happy!

It works just fine but might need a pump down the road.

Congratulations Dick! Can't wait to see some more photos of your new found treasures.

56WP's Rock! And that one looks minty fresh. I have a pump that would fit that machine. You can have it if you want it. Almost threw it out this weekend. Let me know if you want it.

Dick,
It was a thrill for me to actually connect with another member of the group. Even though it took your drive from Palm Desert to Seattle, to make that happen, we got to have a taste of what Perc-o-Prince and the Eastern Washer Mafia get to revel in.
I look forward to lots of time in Souther Cal, high in the mountains, watching susdy whites do their tantalizing dance!
Ya'll come back, Hear?
Kelly
