I had lunch at a Chinese restaurant the other day in the East Hollywood area. It's called "Wah's Golden Hen, at Melrose and Virgil.

I spotted this really, well, COOL, looking vintage food cooler there, and, since I happened to have my camera with me, I snapped a photo of it. Obviously it's no longer being used as a cooler but as storage but it appeared to be in pretty good cosmetic condition. See photo below. Who knows ... if someone wants this, maybe they would sell it or trade it for a proper cups cupboard! It is really pretty and oh-so-early-60s isn't it!!

The place is pretty much a dive -- not the sort of Haute Fashion establishment to bring along your poochie with her Prada stole! -- but the food is FANTASTIC. The best Wonton Soup I've ever had. They do have an "A" Health Dept. rating.

Speaking of pets, I am gonna tie into the Pets thread here and point y'all to the "Furry and Feathered Friends" section of my site which has many pages of photos of loved ones, past and present, including two Pekes named Eva and Pep-Pep and a black long-haired cat named Nikki who lived to the ripe old age of 21, and of course our beloved OZ whom we still miss very much. Just go to my web site portal at www.137.com and scroll down.

The as to the "Rarest Vacuums" thread, I have several that would fall into that category but I guess my favorite is my 1924 Electrolux Model V. There's a whole section of my web site devoted to it; again, you can link to it from my portal page under "ELECTROLUX."

btw, whomever posted that photo of the XXX from the U.K. [I don't recall if it was Minnerva Frottel-Bottym Symthe, Hyacinthe Swampwater Clive, or Myrtle Mae Ashbourne-Wellesley!], with the very cool "Electrolux Junior Polisher" as I believe they called it over there [identical to the U.S. version but with the European logo on top], is that a 240-v XXX? If so, I'd say that would make it QUITE rare indeed!!

Hope it's not a "Rules No-No" to wander around a couple of different threads in one posting. I just didn't feel like typing one thread here, one thread there, SOOO much work to have to go from one thread to another *smirk!*

neat-o fridge!

Oh Maggie, DO tell us about this, as it appears to be a peculiarity to California.

Also I hear that in Arizona, wait-staff may NOT refill your glass/mug/beaker/cup, EVER. Get thee a new/clean one!

I can't say for sure, but you will certainly piss-off all the Asperger's cases and may make a thread impsossible to logically follow. Then,I should talk-- QC is the BEST at hijacking a thread.

Nice cooler! Thanks for posting the pic. I'd love to have something like that in the family room for beverages. And I think "Holy Trinity Gets A Hammond" would make an EXCELLENT album title for some aspiring punk band, too.
