Having bought a dishwasher and clothes dryer online without major issues, I did the same when Dish Network replaced our outmoded DP311 Solo standard definition receiver with a ViP211z HD box: ordered a flat panel TV from Walmart.com.

Little did I know Walmart or more specifically Ingram Micro, their contract fulfillment center in Alta Loma, California (a half-hour drive from home) uses common carriers (yeah, UPS, I'm talkin' about you) instead of a freight company who dispatches the item with a scheduled delivery date and estimated time window.

True to form, the delivery status abruptly changed from Scheduled to Exception at the San Bernardino UPS depot (translation: label scanned in San Berdoo, then the box vanished without a trace or fell off the truck).

Walmart refunded the price upon verification that UPS can't say where the TV went so I decided to go old school. After work, I folded down the seats in the Impreza and headed to the nearest big box store (Target) where I picked out and hauled home a Westinghouse 40 incher.

New rule of thumb: see the title of the post.

I bet Sube has a bigger appetite

I bet it could have swallowed more than just a 40 incher either thru the back or with the seats down and thru the side doors!

I got a KDP-12P Kitchenaid Portable DW into the hatch of my 77 Celica GT. It fit fine but the high liftover made it a bit of a bear. Definitely a 2 man job on that move.

Got even bigger stuff in my '83 Subaru GL wagon. Now that was a hauling machine!

Sometimes these cars surprise us!

You wouldn't believe what I've been able to stuff into the trusty Volvo wagon (AKA Swedish pickup truck), I have the pre 2001 with the larger back before they tried to make them Aero. It's all about the floor to roof height opening, I can get most full size ranges in there If I don't feel like trailering. I had a VW quantum wagon(1st gen Passat) prior, with almost identical opening dimensions as the Volvo, and I could get TWO 250cc dirt bikes in there if I removed the front wheels and took my time about it. Both 25mpg and AWD.

Back when I first knew Dave, he had a '76 Audi Fox wagon (same as a VW Dasher).  A warehouse complex a friend's dad managed was coming down for road reconfiguration, and one of them had old AT&T office furniture for as far as the eye could see.  We got a full sized metal desk in the back of the Fox -- in one piece.  That never would have been possible with the much larger Audi 5000 wagon he bought a couple of years later.

Never a surprise what will fit in a Subie!!!  My 05 Outback has hauled home a Mobile Maid, a Maytag portable, 2 or 3 assembled gas grills, patio furniture, countless bags of mulch, rocks, a 50 inch flat screen, the list goes on and on.  My 15 Equinox is much larger but the cargo space is not as good.  Couldn't even fit a gas grill in it that I bought for my sister,  we had to take the whole thing apart to fit.

My old '95 Geo Tracker hardtop was able to haul my dryer with the back door closed as well as my compactor.  The Jimmy has a bit more room in the back.  You'd be surprised to know what all I've hauled in the back of my 01 Beetle with the back seats folded down.

re; Equinox

No room at all. Our (my step) kids have one, and with a three year old, a stroller, and four adults, it's very cramped. Lease is up soon so they'll either move up to a Traverse, or a Ford Edge.
When family works for both companies, you tend to feel loyal to buy or lease one of the products that helps put food on their tables and roof's over their heads.
The discounts aren't what they used to be, but if you want one in a certain color or option package, you can get a decent price as anyone who walks in and picks one off the lot.
We had a '99 Chevy Venture LT on a 2 year lease. It had more room than anything they even sell today.
I hauled home all the retaining wall bricks for my three large front landscaping beds, plus about 15 bags of top soil to fill them. It had auto level control.

Hauling stuff.

While in grad school, my girlfriend at the time bought an art deco wardrobe. It fit in the back of my 2002 Saab 9-3 hatchback without having to be dismantled.

Now I have a 2008 Honda Element as my backup car. It will hold a washer and a dryer in the back. It's the best Volvo 240 station wagon that Honda has ever made.

My primary car is still my 1987 Volvo 240 GL sedan. The day after I graduated from college, I had so much stuff packed in that it wouldn't hold another piece of paper. I had a bicycle and a rug on the roof rack, a plant in my lap, and even the space above the center arm rest was full.

Youcrate could make a killing at college campus move-outs.
