I had read Wiki's page on this song, about its history, and assumed the simpler acoustic version in this video is the one that predated the famous version. Oops!

I still prefer it though. Just a great song IMO.

This is probably my all-time favorite music video, not because the quality is any good (it was shot on an Apollo cam, from inside a DJ booth at Max's Kansas City in NYC), but because of its rarity.
