Who presently makes the residential clothes dryer with the largest drum? And who presently makes the fastest dryer? (Wouldn't it be nice if it were the same dryer?)
WHIRLPOOL HEAVY DUTY Washer and Dryer that do 10kg load in a bigger than standard cabinet or HOOVER DOBLÒ & VISION 9 Kg washing machine and matched condensor dryer that fit in a standard cabinet. I know for sure these aren't the faster, expecially comparared to the American machines that have 5000W or more elements but they might be the biggest for a domestic use available in Europe.
Well it used to be Norge with the 8cu. foot drum and the 21in. steel fan in the back of the drum. Now a days it would have to be Whirlpool with their 7cu. foot drum. As far as the fastest it would have been Norge back in the 70's and early 80's but now a days I would have to say Whirlpool or one of the latter made Maytags before Whirlpool takeover. This is what I think but maybe some one else knows which is the fastest at drying. Thanks Danf.
I'm guessing those 7.5 cu ft. dryers by Whirlpool are the largest domestic units. Other manufacturers, however, have almost similar sized drums: for example GE and LG at 7.3 cu.ft IIRC.
As far as speed goes: I've heard the Miele super capacity dryer (although only 6.36 cu.ft large) is really fast due to its very powerful airflow.
I love the way manufacturers advertise that the dryer dries as fast as the washer washes. That would be one thing with a 30 minute top loader cycle, but modern front loaders take anywhere from .75 to 1.5 hours or more to wash.
I would have agree 7.5 cu ft drums from Whirlpool and lets not forget Samsung and LG they run a bit close to the size. But one has to remember that these dryers have an long cylinder that makes them this capacity. The original Whirlpools with the EquaFlow airflow had a nice wide and deep drum.
The fastest dryer I will have to give it my Miele. She may only be a whopping 6.36 cu ft for a drum but she is fast. Around 350 cfms fast. The load temp never seems to never get above body temp and its hard to describe but so far nothing shrinks with this dryer. Very sensitive drying system as well. Once the load reaches the dryness you set she goes into cooldown right away. I know I yap about the Miele's but once you use one your hooked.
Also on the dryer if you start the dryer without anything in it ...it will shut down in less than 15 seconds.
The GE Harmony dryer has a big drum 7.2 I think. It also has the dual motor configuration like the Oasis. Thankfully, it doesn't have that white powder coat drum the Whirlpools have that turn blue after drying denim.
Give me Stainless Steel in a dryer any day of the week.
What else bigger than the biggest backyard is there with infinitives clothes blowed up by the wind and drying in the sun?!
The bigger your backyard the bigger your ECO-Dryer :-D
Kilometers&Kilometers (Miles&Miles) of line to hang out to dry your clothes...that's what I mean The Biggest Dryer!
Of course my dear! The myth of putting clothes dirt and get them washed and dried!!!
But now the best is to hang out IMHO better than have thos terrible wrinkles on clothes coming out of most of nowadays combos...
But to the poster who states that modern front loaders take too long to wash. That time is saved in less dry time beecause I, in the summer can wear my t shirts right out of my maytag neptune.
