I am very impressed with every LG washer,dryer and washer dryer i have seen so far.We don't sell them at The home Depot but I do send elegeable candidates to Southeast Steel to see them.I like the "Roller Jets",I like the recirculating spray(my old Kenmore Combination washer dryer had that and got our clothes exceptionally clean!!!),I love the 1100-1300 RPM spins available,i like the direct drive moter,Ilike the full size combination washer-dryer and hope they introduce newer models in gas as well as 220 volts.I do not see how it can't be done and think maybe,just maybe their current full size condenser combo is a model introduced to "test the waters" just to see how much of a market there is for them here as well as abroad.

I actually have the newer 3677 10kg coimbo. I like the machine but it does have some issues. For instance I realize it takes awhile to dry. But the washing cycle is extremly long. The people at LG customer service do not know much about the machines. I had a tech look at the machine and said it needed a display board even though the unit is currently working. LG had to order the part from Korea and could not get it for awhile. So LG agreed to replace the machine. I am still awaiting as to when it will come in. It does do a beautiful job cleaning. The part that takes a real long time is to balance the load before it spins. I will keep all posted when I hear more information.

Thanks!I have been so busy trying to keep up with work @ "Homo Depot"LOL and trying to keep up with dodging these horrible hurricanes we seam to be unable to avoid.I found 2 fabulous junk yards nearby and frollic them frequently.I have a new LG compact combo that was still under warranty and it works great! Got it for $20 It retails for $1300!I also found a Frigemore set that was sent there from Lowes and had never been used!!!I got them for $60 and cleaned them up and sold them to a co-worker for $400.She sent in the form from FRIGIDAIRE to extend the warranty another 5 years!!!They both work perfectly.We(Orma and I and our 4 pets)survived Charley and Francis unscaved and had no problems.We lost nop power,our cable tv stayed on the entire time of both storms.I can't say that for the majority of the people here in Seminole county thow.There are still homes here w/out power and some that are flooded.They are saying the water won't reach it's crest untill tonight and a lot of folks will be homeless and have to stay in shelters or with friends or families.

I am hoping that LG is using their 120 volt full size combos to "test the waters and try to build the same structure available in 220 volts and/or gas like the old Bendix/Kenmore/Whirlpool models were.I know they can do it.I just wonder what is going on now as far as the hearings are concerned reguarding lawsuites with FP/WP/Mtag/and GE.I haven't heard anything reasently about it but am curious about what's happening and verry anxious to find out what the outcome is going to be.

Whirlpool is suing LG claiming their front load washers violate several Whirlpool patents including IIRC, the recirculating spray/Catalyst action.

Isn't it funny that the suit is against the recirculating water in the LG FL machines, yet the Whirlpool Duet's do not have this feature. Further, the F&P has this spray, yet this has been overlooked. Perhaps Whirlpool does not see F&P as a threat to their marketshare. If LG eliminated this feature in their FL machine's, would it make any difference in their sales? I doubt it. It might, however, make a difference in the machine's ability to clean. LG might have to start using more water to achieve saturation.

Neptune's recirculating pump
I refurbished a Neptune MAW4000 and it has a recirculating pump on it, too. (Of course, you can't see -- no window!) It was Maytag's solution for getting the detergent out of the sump. Apparently, early models initially washed detergent into the sump and there it stayed until the drain. The recirculating (separate) pump draws water from the sump and sprays it on top of the clothes.
I ran the machine with the door open and could definitely see a difference in the water after the pump energized.

MRB627, the duets may not have the recirculating water. BUT, Whirlpool used this in their Cmbo Washer/Dryer that aws introduced in 1958. This was used for both the WP and Lady Kenmore versions and was used until the LK versions Sears stopped selling in or around 1970. Personally, I wish they'd resurrect this filter stream and use it in the duets and hetties.
LG Doesnt Usually mean Longevity

I'll start by saying that I dont have any direct experience with LG Washers. (They do look impressive though)
However my mother in law and I currently have LG convection ovens. After 2 years (Just out of warranty) hers no longer heats to the temp it says it is, and the buttons no longer always work properly on ours.
My mother had an LG TV bought 2 years ago, that was fixed 3 times in the 12 month, warranty period, It too died about 3 months ago, and was replaced with a Panasonic.
I'm the floor warden at work, and our 3 year old LG Fridge packed it in 4 months ago, and was replaced with a westinghouse, and our neighbours LG Dishwasher that was 12 months old recently had the control panel catch fire. (LG Did replace it with a new one)
So out of all the new LG Appliances I've come accross, I dont have anything nice to say about any of them, and until they've been around a bit longer, I wouldnt rush out to pay a premium price (although not quite Neptune price) for an LG washer.
The product that they used to make for AU, back when they were called Goldstar that lasted was A/C, we had them at work and at 10yo running 24hr a day they were fine.
Everything else that Goldstar (LG) made during that period that had electronics was rubbish.
Slightly off topic I know, but has anyone actually had a modern LG washer for more than 12 months, or is the whole world only just starting to see their machines.

Choice magazine has just reported updated reliability surveys in its latest issue. There were a lot of brands showing that previously were not included (due to the factthat they were still penetrating the market). The new brands were Ariston, Bosch and LG. Bosch came second for reliability, LG was futher down, avergae, comparable with Simpson and Hoover and others.
