I agree with many others: keep the Miele. I've had one for more than 20 years and I was sorry to see it go because of worn bearings. Otherwise it looked immaculate inside and out. I know that it can be very tempting to buy another machine with new features as that's exactly what manufacturers want you to do, but in most cases the excitement about these wears out quickly and you realise that you are not better of with the new machine. There are many more new washer models than that there are actual improvements.

For as far as I know the only area where new models usually mean better performance is in the computer related business.

Did you decide to get rid of the miele for an LG in the end?

I must admit I love the look of the LG steam washers, always have to look at one when in a appliance shop.
Unfortunalty for me I have to keep the siemens for at least the next 4 years ( think the other half would go mad if i got another machine, I tend to get bored as well, but at the moment still like what i've got).

Great choice and it has an interior light that can be used during any part of any cycle!

Oh, it is fantastic, the racks are super as they're completey movable, they can get completely flat in the bottom if you put the dish holders down! And the top can be changed with the push of a button on the side, plus both racks are on roller bearings and slide in and out really easly. I've seen it at the exibition in Reggio Emilia and next weekend I'm going back home and talk with the carpenter as we're going to need purpose built counters as there is only little space for the water pipes and connections and then, by the end of june everything should be in place. I'm putting a few photos of the appliances in the other thread if you want to see more!
