Looks like LG needs to improve whatever diverter system they are using on that machine. It doesn't seem to know what it wants to do: spray the bottom rack? Spray the top rack? Oh, let's just spray one rack but make sure enough water escapes the other spray arm so that too little pressure can build up and the water jets won't reach the tub's ceiling.

Shockingly Sad

for even a modern dishwasher -

Andrew's new Total coverage Whirlpool is MILES better than this thing. I mean, seriously....How in the living hell is anything going to get clean in that? I've heard people say these newer dishwashers merely pee on dishes, but this takes the cake..

also...

You can tell that the lg put so little water in the basin, yet reviewed.com rated it as a powerful dishwasher. I don't know about you, but I think lg should at least learn from the big boys like Frigidaire, GE, Maytag or Whirlpool. Just saying.

reviewed.com didn't rate my Maytag 2014

or the newer Maytag's good at all, yet they are much more powerful than this thing...

The LG clothes washers look like they do a good job.....but this? Sigh

I wish they wouldn't speed up the video though

I'd like to...

If I had the chance, I'd like to test either my mom's Kenmore or my dad's Whirlpool dishwasher against this lg. The last time I started my dad's whirlpool with the door open, water shot across the room. I bet you can somehow start the lg dishwasher with the door open.

Yes they suck bad.. My Dad has one and it has the variable speed motor and everything..The strange thing is that in normal wash the motor speeds up big time than it does in heavy wash..It cleans better in normal wash high heat and sanitize than in Heavy.. I use it like a Old Maytag plates on top and pots on bottom.. There not that great at washing my Smeg out cleans it by a long shot.. I don't know if it's because, the wash arms are so odd or cause there so many in that strange machine which I have to give credit to

that Smeg is a fantastic dishwasher...

Really?

LG so-called powerful dishwasher? I'm sorry. I'd rather take a GE, Kitchenaid, Maytag or Whirlpool over this. I don't prerinse, and I don't plan on doing so. You're gonna need a powerful dishwasher detergent and rinse aid and then some. That explains why lg dishwashers don't clean let alone wash dishes!

Nearly five years ago, a sales guy at Sears told me LG couldn't decide whether they wanted to build a dishwasher with a filter or a disposer.  They'd had some troubles with the LG models and he wouldn't sell one unless the customer insisted over his attempts at steering them toward another brand.

A customer of mine bought one of the first LG models on the US market back in '07.  She loved the racking,  the huge capacity and cleaning was excellent.  The first repair came at about the one year mark, LG replaced the entire pump assembly w/motor after a two week wait for the parts and then it sat for another two weeks while a sump seal was ordered and arrived.  It worked for another 2 years well enough and then needed a pump/motor replacement again.  Toward the end of it's 4th year of useful life, an electronic board went out and they ditched the machine for a Bosch.

Our member, Frigilux, had an LG (second or third generation?) that he really liked the performance of, but was that the machine that leaked and caused damage?  Maybe he'll chime in here with the history of his machine.
