I've got an opportunity to pick up one of these LG pedestal washers quite affordably, and am wondering if anyone has any experience with putting these under a non-LG front loader.

Everything I read on LG's site is that they can ONLY be installed under a LG washer, but I'm fairly certain that's because they want you to spend $$ on their main washer.

As long as the feet of another brand front loader match up to the positions of the slots on the top of the Sidekick, what difference would it make?

Has anyone installed one of these under anything other than an LG, and were there negative consequences?

Thanks!

As long as it will fit

If that would be the case, I don't see much problem, yes.
If the feet line up AND you can secure it as directed go ahead.

I somehow though think that the feet will NOT line up.
And these will not operate without a washer on them - AFAIK they have a safety switch at one of the feet slots that checks for something inserted there.

What I am almost 100% certain about though is that both manufacturers would instantly void your warranty (if there is one) on either unit if they see that.

In general though, the reviews (at least those not paid for) are quite underwhelming.

They use barely any warm water - good luck getting hot.
Cleaning is mediocre at best.
Per pound, they aren't terribly efficient.
And spinning isn't that good either.
