I've seen videos of those that do that right before they explode! Love the light show on the control panel.

So we absolve the operator who has placed a mega thick bath towel into a mega drum and one light flimsy black thingy and they expect that washer to perform a balancing act....Really??
I know its a flimsy box, and that its the OOB sensor thats the issue here, but hey, at what point is "I Didnt Understand how It Worked" plausable!!
Even the best of vintage couldnt cope with that, unless the wash basket was so small as to coat the yellow towel all around the drum evenly!!

I think the electronics, and the lack of the weight of a mechanical transmission or any serious metal, causes so many of these problems. They say whats old is new again, so we may be bolting machines to the floor again. It's a shame, and I am sure this machine was expensive. alr
Watching that video-did look like the load was difficult for the machine and its user to balance-at the end of the film clip---WAS SHE GOING TO BLOW???!!!LG was one of the washers with the SPIN-SPLODE action!

Sometimes even during the wash and rinse cycles, the tub would bang against the cabinet. Finally sold them and took a loss after 1 year and went back to a front load Kenmore Elite set that is fantastic. If anyone out there is considering purchasing this LG washer, please reconsider, it is a piece of junk.

Balancing acts
About ten years ago I bought a new Maytag TL washer. It too couldn't balance a load. I was so disappointed in the thing. Every cycle required that I redistribute the clothes.
When I bought the new house I went to the dealer who was, at that very moment, putting the new Speed Queens on the floor.
I told him that whatever I buy, it MUST (and I mean MUST) be able to balance a load every time. He said the SQ would do the trick and I bought the washer and dryer pair.
He was right and I've never regretted the purchase.
(Needless to say I went to a independent dealer and not big-box dealer. This fella actually knew what he was selling!)

not my samsung WF1124XAC that machine is just brill I've been through 4 machines, 2 zanussi,1 hotpoint, 1 LG every single machine ive own have been top of range and none of them as come better than my samsung

I guess I am lucky my G.E. Harmony is made by L.G. but the basket is smaller and I rag my machine out bad.I want it to break down
to give me a reason to get that Miele washer if I can't find a Jetcone 1-18.. I think I would be called nuts by a ton of people for wanting

I do agree that there is a bit of operator error here, but even my old 2004-vintage GE washer wouldn't do this. Yes, it would make a lot of noise, but there's no way that it would jump around like that.
I mean, at least other washers have rhythm when they are out of balance....

Ya know what got me interested in laundry eqpt in the first place? I'd pull a chair up to our Westy slantfront and wait for the spin to see if it was going to dance. I was 8yo and the Westy was more interesting than television. Real adventure. Like Indiana Jones except in real time and real space.
No washer I ever used/owned was completely immune to imbalance. At the same time, none were CHRONICALLY imbalanced. If I bought a new one and it danced EVERY TIME, I would un-buy it.
