A friend of mine needs to replace the discharge (drain) hose on his LG Tromm FL washer. Apparently, the hose is accessible from the bottom of the washer. The owner's manual says to call a technician to replace the hose. Is this something that a reasonably skilled D-I-Y'er can do? Any assistance would be appreciated. Let me know if you require a model number for further assistance. Thanks!

Should be relatively easy!

Dave, I think I have the hose you need for it. Mine is from the LG FL that had the console on the top, but I amsure the part would be the same. If your friend's machine is like mine was, then there should be a large access panel in the back that will give you or him access to the pump and drain hose.

I would suggest that he opens up the trap in the front and drain out any standing water and then attack the hoses. They are held in by screw clamps. Remove the old part and just install the new one.

Check the photo below and see if it matches up to what is on the machine. Then we can work out the details and I can ship it to you.

a D-I-Yer should be able to rig it up....I did it one time to a top console model, a combination of a piece of hose connected to the pump, and then a few pieces of plastic pipe in a bit of a "S" turn to end up with a port out the back of the machine, and then attach a regular generic drain hose for what is needed....you may even have some of this stuff arond the house...plastic pipe, a few fittings and some glue works wonders in many applications

I got all this stuff at Lowes....a lot cheaper than buying the original hose

post a few pics if you need some help

let us know how you made out
