I have an LG washer model 3700. I was wondering if anyone knows what number of rinses the machine defaults to for each cycle. For example, I'm guessing the Normal cycle defaults to 2 rinses. What about the other cycles such as Heavy Duty, Whitest Whites, Delicate etc. ?

If yours has turbo wash, it would have a single deep rinse and multiple spray rinses, along with water recirculation. My Kenmore Elite does this.

Newer LG FL machines with TurboWash will perform 1 rinse. Spray rinses are anemic at best, and interim spin is slow and does not drain sump sufficiently. I always run it without Turbowash, but not all machines allow this. IMHO, best way around this is Whites cycle without TurboWash which defaults to 3 rinses. Many here will disagree, but rinsing with TurboWash is poor on normal, heavy duty, and whites with the 1 deep rinse and spray rinses.

Given that I think every US LG FL has an extra rinse option that allows to add up to 3 rinses - I don't see a logic behind having a TurboWash machine and not selecting it.
If you want 3 rinses, adding 2 rinses via Extra Rinse gives you 3 rinses plus the spray rinses.

I think most cycles outside speciality cycles run 2 rinses as default.
The Allergy cycle and similar will run more. Whites Whites does more due to bleach usage being more of a thing in that cycle.
But trial and error should give you pretty quick answers - and up to 5 rinses with the Extra Rinse option should be sufficient for everything.

I have the 4000 model. I have wondered why LG does not put this info in the manual. How would I know if I need an extra rinse unless I know what the default is? Also, the AI wash programs won't perform certain functions even though you choose that function on the panel. The manual says you can.

Again, my LG does not have turbowash. Pumper, that is exactly why I would like to know how many rinses each cycle defaults to. I do not feel that 2 rinses is ever enough on a front loader unless I just want to do a light wash with very little detergent. And sometimes I will use LCB on other cycles other than Whitest Whites which needs extra rinsing.
