Hello,

I have a fairly new LG WM3600 front loader that will often, but not always, leave a little bit of water in the drum after a cycle completes. No error codes, clothes are otherwise spun dry and clean.

One time I was able to watch the water flowing back into the drum, which leads me to believe it is coming back in from the drain hose.
- The standpipe is in a basement, ~60" off the floor.
- It is 18" over the trap
- It isn't overflowing.
- Only a short amount of hose is in the pipe.
- Hose goes straight up to the drain pipe with no kinks.

This made me think there might be a check valve issue, but when I went to the parts diagram for this model I didn't find anything that looked like a check valve / back flow prevention.

Does this washer not have anything like this or am I missing something? Something else I should check before returning it? (no service techs available for weeks...)

Thanks for any help!

drain the pump filter, which is on front bottom left side of the washer with a little door.

There is a little hose with a plug, that you will need to undo and drain.(use a bucket, there will be a fair amount of water in the pump)

then unscrew the pump filter, clean it if it's needed. Screw back in the filter, put the plug back in the hose, your done.

Small Amount Of Water Left In FL Washer

It may be you higher than usual standpipe allowing the water left in the drain hose to flow back into the washer, if your machine does not have a built-in CV you could add one near the washers base or next to the drain pump, this might also improve rinsing performance.

The machine is brand new (a few loads of lightly worn clothing washed) and when I've drained the pump and checked the filter, it was pristine. I even tried to feel around in there/check with a flashlight and I didn't see anything that might be clogging it up.

At this point I'm really thinking it's an issue with the height of the drain/no check valve protection.

Thanks, both of you, for the advice!

I had the same issue with a new last year LG.
I knew the drain was high- that's why I was shopping for a new washer.
My beef with LG- and others, I expect- is that the installation instructions clearly spell out the drain height limit- EIGHT Feet.
Nope, said their tech guy. 4 feet. I'd need to install a tub and pump drain.
This clearly is nonsense. Why can't we hold manufacturer's to the specs they publish?
