Lids open or closed

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I always leave the lids open on my Kenmores if they've been used recently - after a few weeks I may close them, but it takes a long time to totally dry a tub. Agitators and centerposts can stay moist for weeks, and tub mounted lint filters can drip for a while, leaving the tub wet. On machines I use often, I leave the lid up all the time except when in use.

Mark, I used to have that problem. But I started the dryer once with the door open and a cat inside just for a couple seconds, scared her bad enough that she's never gotten in there again. That has always been one of my biggest fears and shutting one of the cats in the dryer and starting it. I have six cats, so I'm always double checking. What is your cat's name? He/She looks a little like our cat Sarabi. Here's a picture of Sarabi.

Maytagmark,

That cat looks like a maine coon. My wife's cat, Merlin, is a maine coon and has the same facial features but with a darker color fur.

Jim and Jason, Hi, Her name is Cassie and she is a Maine Coon, I got her two years ago this Easter, I found her on Craigslist, I'm her third owner in her five years, It took a while to bond with her,but now that she knows she has a person she's very loyal, she's always waiting for me by the front door when I get home. Jim, Sarabi looks like a Maine Coon also, does Sarabi get his/her coat trimmed?

Historically, everything closed. That was what my mother always did.

My last roommate, however, insisted on having the top load washer open to keep mold or mildew from forming.

Now, I'm back to closing the lid--mainly because the laundry room roof has a drip right over the washing machine.

Hotpoint 95622

Front loader door always left open, once a month a full 95c wash and a regular soap dispenser clean with a little bleach, softener compartment is always a mould hot spot.
