I just stumbled across this incredible scan of a furniture and appliance catalog from 1958.  The scan is broken out into sections, with separate pdfs for kitchen, laundry, vacuum cleaners, etc.  It’s really fascinating.

This is the FIRST time I have seen all these ranges !!!!

What I love about this book is that it gives the prices for each model.  Some of this stuff was very expensive. 

 

Then there’s the comprehensiveness of what they present.  It’s incredible!  Pages and pages of stoves and refrigerators, televisions, radios, clocks, and hi-fis.  It’s amazing.  The Samsonite luggage, for example, lists 12 different bags!!  I had no idea there was that much variety!!

 

The furniture is interesting, too, and it’s in color, but there isn’t as much there.  I was hoping it would be 100 pages long.

I had just about given up they sold dishwashers, then at last just Hotpoints and Frigidaires.  I guess other than KA, these were the other major sellers (plus GE)

Very enjoyable posting! The Frigidaire and especially the GE products really look so much more modern than many of the others of the time.
