Lions and tigers and TIMELINES - O MY!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

In the picture, the truck is only HALF FULL. We ended up with 32 "pieces", completely filling the truck and the back of Steve R's truck. The photos are on my camera, and won't be uploaded until I get home later today. (Robert, how much space do I have in my photo album here?) All the machines are still on the truck; we still have to offload these machines into the storage area today, which is going to be a big chore since we are all stiff and aching from all the pushing, pulling and lifting we did yesterday.

These questions and more will be answered later:

How many Unimatics can fit on a truck?

Was Jesup the baby capital of Georgia?

Is Sears really that far away?

"General Electric light bulbs never dim", but what about their washers?

If you stretched all the clothes line rope in Jesup, GA from end to end, how many times would it circle the Earth?

Would Samantha have ever used these machines?

;)

Now Thats An Appliance Story...!!!

OMG...

Well done to you all, you must have been birstin to keep that news quiet...you can be my shrink any day....

Its experiences like this that keep us tickin, and the memories of the appliances and the history of how it came to be are just priceless.

Congrats to you all and thoughts and prayers for Rhinnie...

Mike

I am speechless - what an amazing story, adventure and what treasure!!! Of course we will keep you and Rhinnie in our prayers - after all that is what is most important!!

I'm dying with anticipation here. Please hurry with more photos. That Norge Timeline has my mouth watering.

Emotional weekend is an understatement!
I hope that everything will be okay with Rhinnie's leg.
I can't get over how hard you guys worked this weekend!
Thanks for taking the time out and telling us your story about meeting Harry, Steve. It really sounds like it was meant to be. I agree with his family, you are carrying out his legacy. To think that they would have just watched garbage men carry off his lifetime of work, and treasures, if you would have never met Harry.
You guy's get some rest! After you post the pictures. :)
Be Careful.

An Old Frigidaire store sign.....

Down a side street. What a great story! You related those details like a writer. It made the hair on the back of my neck
react. It will be so exciting to see the entire inventory.
I wish you could just "beam" me there so I could help you unload. It is so much fun to get even one "new" machine and
I can relate perfectly to the "worn out" after math. What a great thing that the old fellow had his son call you!!!

Wowweeeeeeeee! I love a good washer story

And Steve thats a good one! All this time you were coming up here with small combos and harboring a dark secret! You sly devil you! YAY!

So Peter how many Unimatics do fit on a truck? Robert S and I only got 24.
SLAPPPPP! Ouch!

My heart goes out to Rhinnie, give him a big kiss from me on Monday!
Jon

I don't know what to say!

Steve:

What a wonderful appliance story with a happy ending! I am so glad that Harry's son chose to preserve his legacy instead of having it hauled off to the landfill! Is Harry still alive? Oh please tell us more! I'm so excited for you all!

My prayers are with you and Rhinnie! I hope this was just an episode of discomfort with no serious effects. Please give Rhinnie a hug for me!

Venus :-D

Steve, GREAT story! Thanks for sharing...look at all of this knowledge (and machines) that he passed on to you! I hope Rhinnie is doing OK after hearing the news about his leg...will keep him in my thoughts and prayers and hope for the best.

Peter, looking forward to finding out the answers to all of those interesting questions you posed! How many Control Towers can you fit on a truck? ;-)

What a great story!!!

I'm practically speechless!

I'm glad that you got to meet Harry and that you're going to preserve some of his legacy.

Best wishes to you and Rhinne. I hope and pray that it turns out to be nothing more then a false alarm.

Mike

32 Machines?

Wow, 32 machines, I just can't wait to see what you all found! Peter I made room for you to post at least 32 pictures in your photo album, so go for it.

So who's getting what? Inquiring minds must know!

This is a very exciting find, congrats again to all you guys!!!!!

This is a story oh my!

I was sad and happy at the same time. How cool is this.

One question I have. Are the machines new or had they been used? I assume used, but inquiring minds would like to know.

PS I Need a Frigidaire or two in my collection!

Steve

Rhinnie update:

Sunday morning while the four of us were having breakfast, Rhinnie put down his fork and declared, “I can’t see!”

He’s had another stroke, this one took his vision. Long story short, Rhinnie and I headed to the hospital, and Peter H and Steve R were left to, you guessed it, unload the truck!

Rhinnie had a CT scan while in the ER and is in the special Stroke Unit at the hospital where I work. Our pastor and several friends came by and believe it or not, Rhinnie has regained some of his vision. I stayed with Rhinnie until after he had supper, tonight, and then I came home for the night. I know he is in good hands.

Keep praying!

Steve1-18

P.S.: Peter will be posting photos. I didn’t get to be there to get any pictures.

Extra P.S. My computer time will be limited but I will keep you updated.

Oh Steve

My heart goes out to you and Rhinnie, I am glad he stayed in the ICU you need to get rest. Its not easy to care for someone like that and its good you can get some space.

I can't think of anything more tragic than losing one's sight.
I hope for him that it is a temporary spasm of the stroke.

You both are in our thoughts and prayers.

Jon & Al
