Agreed about the scent.

I try to use fragrance-free products of all kinds, because I hate the smell of perfumes.

Clean doesn't need to smell like anything but clean.

Skin problems too

I had the same problem with skin rashes from using dyersheets. They concentrate the chemical and when it contacts the skin produces a rash. But I have experience another problem with liquid FA. My clothes come out stained and won't wash out. So I'm only using it on towels and sheets instead.

Filter clogging

My DW used to use Bounce in nearly every load because our MOL Whirlpool washer didn't have a FS dispenser. After a couple of years, I started noticing that the dryer lint filter was getting hard to clean -- the lint didn't peel off neatly, but rather left a thin layer on the screen. After a while, it got worse. I had to start using a stiff brush to clean the filter. (My DW cannot stand the feel of lint for some reason, so it's my job to clean the filter.) It finally got the point where I was nasty stuff like acetone to clean the filter, and even so it just built up again. It was like a coating of sticky candle wax.

Now that we have the GE Harmony set, I'm trying to break her of the dryer sheet habit and get her to start using liquid FS again.
