Hi all Trish and I just moved from her sisters place to our new house in NW Tucson. This place has plenty of room for my vacuums and has a very new set of GE profile washer and dryer, but what I most like about this place is it has a nice water softener. In tucson our water is very hard and our whites turn a dingy gray color if you dont use water softer in the wash I think our clothes already look brighter after only two washings. This profile washer has a plastic tub but it has very good capacity and works well.I think I prefer using a top loader over the front loader kenmore HE because I dont have to bend over to put in and take out clothes.

Be sure you get a service contract

on these two machines. They are well known for the transmissions taking a dump and the dryer inside frame made of plastic eventually warps and the drum scrapes against it.The electronic controls are also known for their lack of reliability.

yeah, i have a GE top loader in my townhouse i'm renting.
it's actually a decent washer, but SHIT does it have a fast, short stroke. I seriously think its 90 degrees or LESS.

pointer, if you have any casual clothes, or any clothes you "care" about, by all means use the EasyCare or Delicate cycle. It should be 2 speed.

I only use normal (masochistic) speed when doing bedding and towels.

The matching dryer it has actually is really nice. The Auto feature works very well. The lint filter is really small though....
