As most of you know I do not like wood floors...But, carpet was not in the budget just now, so, after some Johnsons paste wax and a good buffing with a 1965 3 brush Electrolux....

Very Nice

Those are some good-looking floors, especially if you only waxed and buffed them.  They appear to have been well taken care of, or were recently refinished.  Either way, they're looking good!  Personally, I'm a fan of hardwood floors; much prefer them to wall-to-wall carpet.

Your house is really coming together.  Thanks for sharing the photos!

Hans,

When we first looked at our house in 1998 they had just ripped out the gold carpeting and were going to replace it with a neutral color.  The wood flooring had that old varnish that darkens with time, and they really looked rough.  I convinced my wife that we should have them refinished instead.  We had a local refinisher come in and do the living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms, and the small hallway.  The cost was only slightly more than carpeting, and we've received many compliments over the years.  The flooring is maple.  A nice coat of polyurethane was applied in 1998, and it still looks great 15yrs later.  They are so easy to keep clean, and we only have area rugs.
