Gary you and I are in the same boat !!

"I just cannot drive that far (unless its an ambulance" Now that made me smile but sadly its very true I had to cry off as well and was sooooooooo looking forward to going and now I realise I missed out on seeing that wide bodied Keymatic the likes of which I have never seen I am even more gutted and still my bloody illness will not abate and let me drive far.
I have found out if I go bare foot its easier but am not sure if its legal or not as I already have a fine and 3 points to add to my otherwise unadorned licence its best not to try my luck going too far lol

Austin

Ps Al you have worked very hard you get a special wish at Christmas this year :o)

Looks like you guys had lots of fun. I just love the wide body Keymatic although have a bit of a hate/love thing with supermatics as you probably know.

Just wish I didn't live so far away, hopefully I'll make a meet someday.

What a lovely wash-in! I'm a sucker for Philips products as you probably know. Especially the dryers seem to live forever. You see them still quite a lot overhere. I remember seeing those new in the shops. Unfortunately I didn't have the room for it back then, I bought the Philips toploader because I had limited space!

Greetings from the Dutch island of Vlieland!

Thank you Al for such a fab weekend!  Was nice to have a chilled, relaxed weekend in the presence of good company, wine, washers and vacs!

We hope you were able to take opportunity on the Monday to have a well earned rest!

Thank you Al for your kind Invitation

A big thank you Al for the invitation to see you and your wonderful stash!
So nice to be able to put faces to names.
Your right about the stove, although I have not yet toched the oven, which I think has not been cleaned for 50 years,I did give to the top a dustette and the enamal is in great condition.Even the clock works!
I bought it as you know to pinch parts,but I don't think I can...bugger,just what I need another stove...ho-hum
But hey, with a total of four ovens, and 16 burners I could open a catering business, and you could wash all the napkins :-) (price to include starchin an ironin of course)

great to see a fun time and gathering for our friends across the pond....

wonderful machines to play with and enjoyable company, it doesn't get any better than that...

someday hope to jump rivers and gather everyone together...what a blast that would be....this just happens to be the next best thing....

Thanks for the pics and names.....

Hi Al,
Thanks for being a wonderful host on Sunday..it was good to finally put some names to faces.

I thought about that noise that the keymatic was making all the way home, and i am sure it is something to do with either the pulley or belt, not the bearing's.

Thanks putting on a delightful spread as well !!

Just got a new brochure on the Top Control will post soon.

Cheers Keith :)

Spin Noise

AL I forgot about that, this machine has a very distinct sound when it is spinning, I can only assume the noise comes from the clutch mechanism, you can hear it engage just as it starts spinning.

If you want to satisfy yourself just take off the back and disconnect the drive belt, and spin the drum, I checked all that when I got the machine and the bearings were fine.

Maybe Mat can shed more light on this

Gary

sorry to have missed out to Al

Great to see and read that you all had a wonderfull weekend, work overtook me again. Hopefully will meet Colin, keith and steve at gathering soon.

Al,

love how you've got so much into your consevatory, and love the ultimate sudz save option. Do you have a pump installed in your waste water tank, to pump your waste water up into sink or outside drain, I have visions of a submersible pump with a float switch pumping the water away to a drain or in through the window to the sink, a bit like a portable saniflow.

Keith,

thats the liberator my aunt had, whilst grandma had the original, like you have and we had the reversamatic, with the controls on the front.

happy washing and restoring

Mathew

Hi Mathew,

Sounds like your family certainly liked English Electric washer's, I always liked their styling, after the aforementioned model, there was another version with a higher back control panel before they then went to the model with the controls on the front.
Cheers
Keith
