Or numbers!

I recently posted a thread about an old clock that displays the time of day anywhere in the world.

Here's a modern clock that tells the time in a much more casual fashion, but I imagine it required a decent amount of intellectual capital to create its matrix.  It provides the time at five minute intervals, something I figured out by studying the picture below before a whiz kid friend quickly sleuthed a link to the web site.  The product information states that the illuminating dots in each corner serve to indicate the exact time.

I absolutely love this thing and wish I could afford one.  The bigger one, of course.

weird clocks

cool! i love weird clocks-i've got one of those"ball bearing"clocks from around
1981-it has a rotating arm that grabs a ball bearing and drops it into a series of
thoughs where they collect and release to indicate the time.Mine needs motor repair
but the clock uses an intermatic motor that looks a lot like those found in
intermatic wall outlet timers-might be able to use one of those for parts.
Ihave seen"binary"clocks as projects in '70s electronic project books and magazines
-may build one one day-with "period authentic"parts and an enclosure as '70s as i
can make it.

I wonder what the top letters on that clock are supposed to say?

I wonder how that "L" fits in with "It is Time", if that's what I'm supposed to be reading up there...

A nice novelty, and clocks can either be that or make me wonder why "someone would want to own such a thing"--as in a Grandfather Clock...

I'd love one of those clocks but alas that price.. maybe the knockoff versions will start showing up. I really love clocks.. well most of them.. I'm not to thrilled with battery operated versions of old classics like anniversary clocks or made to look old wall clocks. I prefer the actual clockwork type.

Yeah Dave, my friend and I were wondering if those other letters were selected and placed where they were for any particular reason.  So far, I have not found any hidden message(s).
