I helped some friends today pick up a Dining Room Table. Nice Store with some really beautiful Furniture and Antiques.

Upon Leaving the store, my friend Greg said "Hey you have to see the Front Store."

I walked in... and almost Died.

I've been searching for a Kitchen Set like this for about 20 Years.

Tah Da !!!

Hi Jim

You're a hoot.

It is Original. It was made by HODOR. The bottom of the chair says "HODOR Manufacturers of Beautiful Dinette Furniture" The cornors of Worthington and Chestnut Streets, Springfield, Massachusetts ( And yes... Massachusetts is spelled out entirely) So it has to be Old !!! And... No Zip Code !!! That's Old. LOL

I just tried Googling it and got a bunch of stuff from Farmingdale N.Y.

I'll have to research it more.

FABULOUS!

Awesome score Eddie!  That tabletop is unusual with the floral treatment.  The background is that "ice cube" or "crushed ice" or "ice somethingorother" pattern and maybe the red chair backs and seats are too.

The table is a nice size.  Did you get the leaf too?

I think that was an expensive set when new, or at the very least the chairs were  The tufting and the tacking on the backs is really a nice treatment you don't often see on chairs paired up with a Formica table.

NICE!!!!

A local antique mall here had a table similar. Instead of flowers, it had red inlaid apples with the grey cracked ice background.

There was the apple table and a plain grey cracked ice. Both same price.

The apples one was pretty beat up and rickety. The laminate top was all sort of faded and scratched. It had an 'oxidized' look. Sort of a haze.

So I went with the plain grey which was in much better shape even though I liked the apples design better. I paired it with a set of 4 now matching chairs that I re-upholstered and added better seat cushioning.

Chromaliscious Baby!!!!

Man, I am loving that!! What a score. I've also never seen one with floral pattern. The chairs with the diamond tuck-and-roll, and chrome hobnails are just killer. You really hit the jackpot.

I like my green crushed ice "Virtue Bros." table and matching chairs alot, but I would have been hard pressed not to grab your dinette set. Wow!

Tim, your set is fantastic too. I like what you did with the chairs!! I had a grey crushed ice set with 6 matching chairs for a short time.

Eddie,

For a true retro look, you have to put a clear plastic tablecloth on the table, and slipcovers on the chairs for protection. lol

Thanks Everyone

Tim,
Your set is almost Identical to the one I lost 20 years ago. I had a set almost like that in storage at a friends basement. The Hot Water Tank let go (which I didn't know about) and they never properly dried amd dehumidified the basement. Everything I had down there was destroyed from Mildew and Rust. Including all the Chrome on that set.

Anyway, Beautiful.

SCORE! Eddie, that is a fine set. I have the red cracked ice set (my parent's) and it is as sturdy as the day it was made. The perfect place for your morning coffee and the newspaper.

Eddie,

I just showed the photos of your "new" dinette set to my wife, and she thinks it would look very nice in the dinette area next to our kitchen. It surprises me that she likes it, usually she screws up her nose when it comes to this sort of stuff. Go figure! Did you get the extra leaf for the table?

What gorgeous score and with such light use. Couldn't have happen to a more deserving individual ;)
