Was wondering if anyone has a GE WH38X10002 transmission tucked away, or knows anyone who would rebuild one/enjoys working on older machines in my area (Las Vegas). It's for my Hotpoint VBSR2080W1WW washer.
It's from around 2000 I think, was here when I bought the place in 2010. I've cleaned it up, replaced timer and water valve when those started going, but it's gaining a bit of a metallic grinding noise coming from the transmission only when agitating. Had someone come out and take a look at it and they agreed transmission sound but did not seem enthusiastic at all about working on an older machine despite thinking current washers are "junk." Which I agree with, that's why I'm trying to keep this one alive, I treat it really well. Part looks like this:
