I have recently acquired an older range:

GE Americana with P7 oven. Model #J785*001HT and Serial #GP211968M

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of spare and replacement part?

Also, I'm wondering, is there any resource available that shows a list of part numbers that are available? It's so much easier to search with a part number. Perhaps with a cross reference for substitutes, etc.?

Thanks for any help offered.

you may have to search many parts places online until you get the specs your looking for.....not all created equal...

www.easyapplianceparts.com and www.sears parts direct.com have been helpful will some of the oddest of parts...you never know what you will find.....have found manuals at sears, just be on the lookout if its offered...

and of course, theres Ebay.....you may not find the exact part, but if you find something similar, try contacting that seller directly, they may have parts that they have not listed, doesn't hurt to ask....

good luck in your search...

April 1973

Would be the date of manufacture.
We've got a '74. Love it.
The best source of parts is to find a similar model which is too unattractive to restore, but with working parts. I got one at Menards for 19$.
Otherwise, just about everything is either still made or a generic replacement can be found.
Appliancepartspros.com customer support has helped me with parts for which I couldn't find a part number.
With minor variations, the systems in this range which can fail (P7 locking is one) were sold for decades. The clock uses a Telechron rotor in ours, so almost certainly in yours. That can often be brought back to life, lots on youtube about them.
The burners are still made, ditto the energy controls. Thermostats for the ovens have generic substitutes. Surprising amount of trim parts still for sale.
Pics? I'd love to see it!
