Looking for GE Coppertone Refrigerator & Dishwasher!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The Admiral looks pretty nice. If it were local, I would purchase it at least for the meantime.

I just had the coppertone GE dishwasher delivered and it's costing me a pretty penny. Having a fridge shipping is going to cost a fortune so I don't think it's worth doing until it's the exact model I'm looking for.

Whirlpool Built Coldspot ref

These were very good refs and about the only other vintage ref that is worth still having today other than 1960 and later GE refs.

This one is Frostless in both the ref and freezer sections.

The only bad thing about using this or the old GE you are looking for is they both use 3-4 times as much power as a new ref . You can reduce the power consumption a good deal by replacing both fan motors with new ECM motors and changing the defrost timer from twice a day to twice a week, and if it is dry enough where you live you might be able to disconnect the electric anti-condensation heater around the freezer door.

"SR" Sears Roebuck emblem

How late did Sears use the 'atomic' looking "SR" emblem? I am thinking this must be about toward the end. Since it is coppertone, is it a mid-60s?

Just doesn't look like anything but the GE's will match. The finish is just too far off.

She did lower the price to $150. Pretty good deal if anyone else happens to be looking for one. Looks to be in extremely good condition. She didn't know what year it's from but I'm guessing a later one as well as it doesn't have the rotating deli drawer.

Dishwasher is in hand! Will be installing it this week. Have never installed a dishwasher so if anyone has any tips, let me know!

The dishwasher looks brand new inside and out. I don't think it's ever been used, looking at the wiring. Crossing my fingers that everything works fine. The finish matches my wall oven perfectly. Thanks again Jeannine for tracking this down!

The hunt for the GE fridge continues...

Sears emblem

The atomic looking Sears emblem was short lived, 1960 thru 1962 I believe. I wouldn't trade that Coldspot for all the other fridges made in that timeframe,,,IF I was forced to have a frost free Personally Frost Free fridges and self cleaning overs are two complicated things Ihave nO use for

That dishwasher is beautiful!  As if it just came out of the box.  And talk about simple to operate...

If you're replacing an existing dishwasher, and that dishwasher has any kind of sound insulation, you might consider robbing the insulation and wrapping the GE before you slide it in place.  It might make this GE a little less noisy when running.
