Looking for Maytag. A906 and matching dryer

I thought so, too, and what.....

A great irony: the once poor, wild and crazy hicks suddenly had a TOL 906 Pushbutton Maytag,
probably because they wouldn't know how to work the all the controls on lower end models, LOL.

Oh wait, sorry Clampetts, my apologies, I was thinking of Lisa Douglas on "Green Acres." DUH! She's the one who couldn't work anything.

I don’t know model numbers like a lot of the people on here do. But I’m pretty sure that the ones on the Beverly hillbillies were The older versions. Like the DE701 and A700 only with all push button.

It’s crazy but I can’t even seem to find any pictures of a 906 set on the Internet. I had to look pretty diligently just to find the picture I posted above. And that was the only decent one I could find. I’m was really looking for a avocado set but I don’t think it exists LOL.

I'm not sure, but I think the Clampett's got a newer set (06) in the later episodes.

Oh OK I guess that is possible. I don’t think I have seen the later episodes. I have some of the earlier episodes on DVD. They are definitely old they are still in black and white LOL.

Yeah, must have been the A 900, or even its the predecessor, the A 160; at least we all remember the all-pushbutton aspect.

Jason, If Dan qsd-dan comes back to the thread, he might treat us with some more 906 pics.

Thanks goatfarmer for those pictures. Man those machines are awesome. I really hope one day I can find me a set. The avocado set is my absolute dream washer and dryer.

I’m pretty sure I have something like that. A902? It’s the older, kind of rounded off type face panel. It’s a matching set in white. I’ll try and dig up some pictures

Jason, maybe there's a classic Aworg miracle in the making here: If Eugene's set works and is available, you could go get it and paint it avocado. Yes, it's a 900 but that's only 6 points shy of the almighty

is doing that Jason. The Maytag pics complement you as well. Their newer FL's seem cheesy. Not a fan of a total bottle deergent dispensor. Lift up the cover of the stainless steel pump hand soap dispensor in a public restroom. Nasty crud! We do 3 loads per week now including bedding an towels.

I remember noticing that the Hillbillies' Maytags had one Pushbutton machine (the washer IIRC) and a center-dial model and I always wondered why. Gladys Kravitz had a Pushbutton pair early on in the series.

Maytag's earliest electronic control dryers had the four pushbuttons on the left with a mock "center dial" in the middle.  Hence earliest Hillbillies sets was all pushbutton  washer and dryer that "looked" like a center dial dryer.  After Maytag offered an all pushbutton dryer to match their 160 washer, then that original electronic control dryer style was relegated to the "highlander" series.  Friends got a used "highlander" electronic control dryer after their 1957 Control Tower dryer bit the dust.

Is there any shipping services that you guys would possibly recommend to ship a washer and dryer. That’s something I’ve never attempted to do before. Also I was wondering if you guys had any idea on the cost of something like that?
