I'm looking for some buttons (rectangular in shape) at the control panel for a Kenmore dryer. The model number is: 87584100, serial number is M35009361. Also, I wonder how old it is. Anyone knows where I can get them for reasonable price?

Your dryer was made during the 50th week of 1983. The three knobs you need are all the same part number and are still available from Sears according to their website. You may be able to get them a few bucks cheaper each thru an appliance parts store that deals in Whirlpool/FSP parts.

thanks, Gordon. I check Repair Clinic site, they want $30.00 for each. I need 3. It's still above my budget. I guess I have to find something else where the arrow aligned the same way.

Does anybody have a pic of these knobs? I have a stash of whirlpool/kenmore buttons and knobs from the late 70's to mid 90's that I would be happy to give away for free.

Here's the photo of the setting selection. Dan, If you have them, I would pay you something for them. If not, I would just find some black knob that have the pointer aligned with the flat side.

The part number is 692368 in case you can't find one here. This is a very uncommon knob, used only on a few electronic washers for the water level switch and on that one model dryer.

Sears's price is $23.68 but I bet you could get an appliance parts store to sell you three for $20 each.

If that is still too pricey, I wish you luck finding some!

Darn!!

No luck. I have the knobs right before and right after this model, but none for this one. Sorry :(

You can always fabricate yourself some to look as much alike as the originals until an old parts machine happens by. Put other knobs in a vice and hand grind them with an electric hand hels grinder/cutter wheel.
