Don, my grandma had one of the later models. All I can say is that it's better than nothing if you want moving water in the tub. I wouldn't use one today without plugging it into a GCFI outlet. What I remember more than anything about it is that it circulated the water enough to keep the temperature even.

You might get more water action in the tub by taking a bath with the dog, however.

Yes,indeed,a portable WP bath pump unit-to be used in the bathtub with you.Could think of another use-could you use it like an immersion washer-put it and the clothes and a little detergent in the tub.Low suds of course-would be interesting.Since that is an old unit-using it with a GFI outlet would be a manditory idea. Before using it-would test the unit with a "megger" to see if it has any leakage before using it.

From the auction:

"I don't know how this works as there is no on/off switch. It is sold as is untested."

Who knew an on/off switch was necessary to test an appliance? :)

Too funny.

"untested" is want-ad-speak "it doesn't work

It can also mean: "I'm too lazy to bother trying it out because I might miss my favorite TV shows; however, despite this, I still want TOP DOLLAR!"

I remember when those were prizes on game shows. In the late 70s, they came out with cheaper versions that just bubbled air through a pad in the bottom of the tub to make it look like you had serious flatulance like one of those underwater volcanos. I'll bet that cheap air version would make a lot of bubbles if you added bubble bath to the water.
