I like the G4 more because along with the G3 it uses a brushroll that makes sweeping up better, they can easily be fitted a metal fan for more power, and they use phillip screws unlike torx. Also again I mentioned earlier that the tech drives appear to be more reliable. And I like the G4 more over the G3 because it uses a three lock handle mechanism and the outer bag has better filtration. Compare to older models like the Heritage II, the tech drive is super nice especially on thicker carpeting, uses rubber wheels that won't scratch the floors, and the hoses are crush resistant. So that's why the G4 was the best model in my opinion. Here's some videos of a G4 with a metal fan competing against a G7D Diamond Edition which is my second favorite tech drive model next to the G4.
Regarding fans, I've seen more fans break on Eurekas than Kirbys. Mainly because Eureka's sister brand Sanitaire are used more commercially and their fans are made out of lexan. Doesn't mean that Hoovers were better, their direct air machines just weren't as popular as they used to be so I haven't seen too many of them break when I was working at a vacuum shop and I've personally never had mine broke on the Concept II. Kirby's old grey lexan fans broke quite a bit even worse than their metal fans they were using before lexan from what I've gathered, but personally mine on the G4 lasted for quite a while before replacing it with a newer white amodel (not kevlar) fan which seems to be reliable.
