Lupus

Chad,

I just read your thread and my thoughts and prayers with
you. I am a RN and have worked with many people (mostly
women) who have this. I remember working with one Nursing Ast. who took a job on night so that she could avoid the Sun.
I think I have told every one here that my mother and grandmother both had rheumatoid arthritis (another autoimmune disorder) and watched them both suffer. Chad, learn all you can, go to Chapter Meeting in your area. You will learn to live with this! Again my thoughts and prayers are with you.
John

This may be a little obvious

Hi Chad,

This may be a little obvious, but there does seem to be a Lupus organisation in the USA with chapters and branches all over the place

Their address on the web: http://www.lupus.org/newsite/index.html

Might be worth getting in touch, some of those organisations are exceptionally supportive and it can be helpful to get speaking to other people who are going through the same thing.

Also, it's probabally worth looking into getting "de-stressed" professionally e.g. see about doing something to bring your stress levels down as low as possible.

Apparently it can be a huge help.

Thanks Guys.. I think the worst parts are missing my boy friend (emotianl stress) and the aches and pains and the cold.. I do still have my Job here and if i could give that up and be ok for a few months, i would. Thats all thats keeping me here. If i could just shake the magic money tree....

Pain Relief

I'm not sure if you can get it by you, but I've been using a product from Germany called "Klosterfrau Franzbrannt-wein Gel".

I've been using the "Latschenkiefer" (dwarf pine) fragrance.

It's a non-greasy, transparent gel that I use as a rub (I have serious inflammation issues, particularly from the knees down...)

This is the ONLY product I have found that works.

It has ethanol (96%!!!), camphor, pine oil, lemon oil, peppermint oil, and nutmeg in it. It helps, and why not??

If you're interested, I'll try to find it for you online.

The fragrance dissipates quickly (so you don't have to explain to your tax clients why you smell like a dwarf pine tree)....:)

It's just something you can do in the here and now, that doesn't cost much.

Lupus

Hi Chad, rayjay here. I too was diagnosed with Lupus a little over a year ago. If you would like to talk, you can e-mail me at [email protected]. I do a lot of reading on this disease and also support it through an annual Lupus walk.

Hope to hear from you

Ray
