...but congratulations on your exciting find. This is one of those machines that always makes me think, "Gee, if they could engineer a machine like this in 1949 that washed the clothes well, didn't use a reservoir full of water and then spun them out so fast that they dried in little time, I WONDER why they couldn't do it for the next 4 decades.

Congratulations Louis on getting this wonderful machine.  As I told you in my message earlier that was the washer I grew up using.  So glad it was saved.  Can't wait to see it in operation.

Eric what a tremendous find--your research really unearthed a diamond!

Louis, what a tremendous purchase! I remember you from the lower level living room outside the laundry at Cal & Jeff's house for DC wash-in a few summers ago. You wore one of those classic sunburst yellow cotton oxford shirts. Maybe you'll have great luck, and this machine will start right up and wash, give or take a little tweaking. One can only hope.

The amazing things we learn here:

Didn't know that the early Frig had such an exciting fill system--through the drain slits. How fookin' cool is that; pardon my Irish. So these were the double rinsers, and when GM engineers envisioned an overflow, they moved the fill to a flume. Fascinating. Had they not, the pulsator would have stood erect, hands on hips, and rebelled at the confusion of trying to fill and overflow through the same slits.

For the additional kind words. I go Estating every week w/ friends. We usually line our weekend up by Tues. When I saw the pic of this a week ago, I knew I had to get there.

I really wanted a frigidaire after seeing Martin's at his house. I knew this was a cool machine ,but didn't know much about it. These are different for me, but I am excited that I got it. It will be quite a while till I get to work on it, but will def let you all know. Thanks again.

BTW / WHEN I PICKED UP THE WASHER....

I got this built-in Ironing board. Perfect time to have it installed, when the house rebuild starts. I've been searching for one for a long time, and stumbled across this by happenstance

Louis, congrats on saving this machine! That sale did have a lot of neat looking stuff! I spy a pretty cool Ford Country Squire that the Fridgidaire came home in!

Thanks for the congrats. I appreciate it. I love the old Ford wagons. They hold a LOT of stuff, and the 2-Way tailgate makes it so much easier to load.

Hello Everyone. Hope all is well and y'all are having a great summer.
I bring back this thread as I am looking to sell this machine. I have
never had a chance to work on it or test it out. Sadly, I just have too
many things that I collected and numerous projects, that I have to pick
and choose which I want to keep, and those I cannot,
due to time and
space constraints.

I am putting this up for sale (and several other various appliances).
When I first posted about this, someone messaged me and said if I
ever want to sell it, to let them know as they want to buy it. I cannot
seem to find a history of direct messages here, and I can't remember
who it was. They said they grew up with one. frigidaireguy posted
in his thread that he grew up using one. Not sure if he was the person
interested in it, should it be for sale. His profile states he was last here
Feb 2025. If anyone knows how to contact him, would you please ask
if he was the person interested in this? Or if anyone knows who it was
who told me that, please have them contact me here, or get their
