Hey there,

Who's going to be here Friday night for dinner? Maybe you're coming in early to go to Brimfield with us that day, or just coming in the evening before the wash-in. Please let us know. We're planning on making a big batch of jambalaya for dinner, and want to be sure we have enough!

For Saturday, the wash-in day, it'll be hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch. At Gary's request, Rich will be grilling up some polenta as well!!!

For Saturday dinner, how about that lobster boil? Here's the deal: If you don't want lobster, we'll have hot dogs and hamburgers available for dinner as well.

If you want in on lobster, please let us know ASAP. Since we're not independantly wealthy, it'll be $10 per person and we'll have a lobster-a-piece plus peel-and-eat shrimp, salt potatoes, etc.

Last time, the night went late so plan on being here a while!

And, what about Sunday morning? Who will still be in town for breakfast? Again, we'd like to know so that we'll be prepared with enough food!

Here's the quick and dirty for questions we have:
1) Will you be here for dinner Friday?
2) Are you going to want lobster for Saturday dinner ($10 please)?
3) Will you be here for breakfast Sunday?

Please email us directly at [email protected] to let us know.

Did I forget anything? I hope not! If so, please let me know!

Looking forward to seeing y'all!
Chuck

clarification

Thanks to an email we received, we'd like to clarify the food situation for the July 15 get-together.

We're hosting hamburgers and hot dogs for the get-together for lunch and dinner, and are hosting the dinner before (Friday eve Jambalaya), and breakfast after (Sunday morning). If you have a salad, dessert or special something that you would like to bring for anything, please let us know! The only thing we're asking is that anyone who would like a lobster boil dinner for Saturday dinner contribute $10.

If not enough people are interested in lobster for dinner Saturday, we'll go ahead and host hot dogs, burgers, and chicken pieces/parts, with Chuck's homemade BBQ sauce, on the grill!

We just need to hear from folks soon so we can make the appropriate plans. The best ways to reach us are by email at [email protected], or by phone at 508-624-0760.

Can't wait till then!!!

Count me in on all the food each day. Two lobsters for me, please. Can I bring watermelons? Fun summer snack! Let me know what else I can bring.

Hey all,

I know that the weekend is a bad time to post because everyone tends to be busy, so I'll re-post this Monday or Tuesday.

If you're coming, please don't forget to let us know if you'll be here for something other than Saturday. Everyone and anyone is welcome for chicken on the grill Thursday, Jambalaya on Friday, and breakfast on Sunday. All we ask is that you let us know if you can make any of the other food times other than Saturday, and if you want lobster ($10 please) on Saturday for dinner.

M-m-m-m... Jambalaya with shrimp, chicken, smoked sausage, crawfish... Yum! Oh yeah, and, well, DUH, cornbread and hot sauce on the side!!!

John: Contact us at our email address or by phone to let us know what you're planning. Corn sounds great!

Bobby: Watermelons? Sounds great too. Please call when you have a chance!

Hope to hear from y'all soon!

Happy toasting!

Hey Chuck by the Way are You from Down South? Because the jambalayla You are fixin is a pure cajun Dish. I'm suprised You are adding Crawfish most people think We are nuts here for eating crawfish, people from Up north usually think that. I have an Aunt who lives in Buffalo and when she told her friend she had family in louisiana, the first thing her friend said I heard louisiana is pure swamp and that the people could only travel by boat because they have no dry land to drive a car, false by the way

Hope You All have a great time Skip...

Hey Skip,

I'm from Buffalo, born and raised! I guess that being from Buffalo is the reason for adding the crawfish. There are a lot of different ethnic sections around Buffalo, and thanks to my mother, God rest her soul, I got my appreciation for home-made things like Italian and Polish sausage, sauce, polish coffee cake, canning, and anything else she shared with me from what she learned from her friends in the different areas. I still make my own barbeque sauce and jelly!

I've been acused of being Italian as well! I wish!!! It's one of my favorite styles of cooking, and some of Rich's aunts have taught me a few special secrets!!!

Having gone to New Orleans a few years ago, Rich and I discovered crawfish boiled, in jambalaya, over pasta, and in po boys. I guess true cajuns would have them in omlettes too?!!! We're both rather experimental when it comes to food. As far as I'm concerned, Jambalaya ain't Jambalaya without crawfish... since I'm lucky enough to have them in my local supermarket! They're nothing like what we had down there since they're pre-boiled, but they're still OK!!!

And, yes, we will have fresh cornbread too!!!

Sending good thoughts your way,
Chuck

Hey Chuck

That's awsome that You can cook as I say from scratch, I love to cook myself and I'm still learning different ways to cook, but My Mother was from Erie Penn. and she cook the foods that were cooked from up North and boy do I miss the food.In Fact My Aunt Evie still lives in Buffalo which is my mother's sister. I have heard since Katrina that alot of displaced New orleans natives are around Your area and some are suppose to be opening up some Restraunts up there. They will of course serve all the good Cajun dishes up there. Boy I love food and love the food from All over. The only food I can't or won't try is sushi, I can't bring myself to eat raw food of any kind.

Some things are just better RAW

Good fresh sushi shouldn't smell fishy. Actually ANY fresh seafood shouldn't have that pungent smell. LOL

I just had sushi last week when one of the guys from work took me out for lunch. I could live off the stuff. I was stuffed and saited. (no wisecracks)

The buffett even had crawfish, but the little mudbugs were too small. Not worth the bother to suck n pinch. LOL

Sounds like you guys up in the NE are going to have a helluva good time this weekend! Wished I could be there!

Have fun & enjoy!

Hey Skip---

I'm sure Aunt Evie is familiar with the Broadway Market and Cohen's bakery!!!

Skip lamb and brussels sprouts for me... together or separate! Sushi rocks! I never thought I'd try it either, but once I did... My faves are the tuna, salmon and (broiled) eel. And don't forget the seaweed salad!!!

I hope no one minds but I'm going to take my post from the 8th and re-post it as a new thread. We've heard from a few more people ho will be making for times other than Saturday, so let us know if you'll be here for dinner Thursday or Friday, or breakfast Sunday!

Hey Chuck

I guess I shouldn't knock sushi as like You say if I did try it I might like it and boy Chuck I myself would love lamb with brussels sprouts any day
