Woke up to a wet snow this morning, but that did not stop me from making a trip to a small town north of here to make a parts haul.

Bought some Norge stuff

This place is going out of business, so the stuff is really cheap.

I gave the dude $30.00 for all this. I named the price. It will all go to be scrapped if nobody wants it.

I just made a slight dent in the Norge stuff...

This place is called Carteax TV and Appliance, and it is located at 108 E. Albion Street in Avilla Indiana. The phone # is: 260-897-3901. Call after 4:00 PM. Ask for Dave or Tim.

They have racks and racks of TV tubes, old tvs, and TONS of old appliance parts for all makes. The place has been in business since the 1950's They are open from 9 to 2 on Saturdays, and all the stuff will be scrapped by April.

Hi Greg, Yes it was a nice "haul" I just took a small part of what Norge stuff that looked like it was made for the 1950's and 1960' machines. I could have spent days in this place! I only made a small dent, and did not look through all the stuff. Just mostly the transmission stuff. The owners son said that the Norge sales person was quite a salesman. If you bought enough parts, Norge would give free trips to Hawaii, and other nice vacation places. As a result, his father has about $150000.00 worth of obsolete Norge parts, including tons of NIB timers. There are even chrome console parts, and parts that should NEVER need replaced. Most of the parts should have only been special ordered when needed. So many duplicates of the same parts also. There are boxes and boxes of tub brakes, the same shaft and gear, transmission cases, it just goes on and on. This inventory was a real waste of money for this little mom and pop tv and appliance store. Its a wonder it did not go out of business decades ago. The owner just bought and bought all these parts and they sat on the shelves for years, unsold.

Called today

I called the appliance store in Avilla this morning. I spoke with one of the sons there and he was very nice. He didn't think they had any wringer parts but still had a lot for Norge. He said that an appliance seller bought a truck load of Fridgedaire washer parts.
If any of you need parts for your machine, give them a call and go. Gary

Thanks Jon! I think I am going to get back up there maybe next weekend, when I have more time.
