The Miele W412 was once a very popular model. A lot of people in our neighbourhood had one. They lasted for years and years.
The matching dryer. No automatic settings, only a timer.
Enough Miele pictures for today. Here are a few pictures of an AEG washer.

What a fab set of pics....I didnt know there where "Keyplate" machines other than Hoover etc,Love the drum Turnamat twintubs, seems like an ideal combination, semi auto as well...and Louis, I always thought that AEG had pulsators!!!that agi looks like it has wings its so big...LOL

The Waschmaschinenforum was supposed to be renewed, but then suddenly the whole website was gone. I don't know what will happen. One of the members put up sort of a shadow forum. Here's the link:

Louis, I do not know what that means - it is all very misterious.... Cannot understand Kai's decision - but it's his! Really a misery! There's also a forum meanwhile at GAYROMEO.COM
BTW...did I tell you both that my AEG LAVALUX is working again, too? Mine doesn't have a lid-switch but is in good conditions. Only thing I do not like: its small capacitiy of not more than 1,5 kg/load.
We are looking for a house now and I would love to have more old washers especially some old woodden tub-washers, a hydraulic driven would really give me the kick! Had them all until I went to Spain - gave them all away to a rural life museum....
Today I bought the Hotpoint TL at Ebay's - now I have to look for transportation....keep your fingers crossed!
Also I'm still waiting for response from John Birmingham who promised me to refurbish a Hotpoint Supermatic de luxe T9414....
Unfortunately I got also no response from Hans, a transporter/carrier who has often by-load capacities on his routes from the UK to Germany...

Whether they be German or English, what is the consequence of losing the key? Are they interchangeable with similar brands, e.g. all Hoover keys fit all Hoover Keymatics? Could you go into an appliance store and buy one?

In the UK, you would have phoned Hoover Service/Spares to order a new keyplate. Some Hoover Dealer Spares/Repair shops in the more rural areas, would have been able to order the necessary parts.

I would imagine that the Hoover plates would have worked properly in only the Hoover models.

Ralf, that is a great machine, it's probably 40 years or older. Here's a scan from a Dutch catalogue with this model (the Turnamat L) and the newer one (the Turnamat S). The catalogue is from 1967, I think that must have been the last year that this model was made.
Oops, the Turnamat L is not exactly the same model, it's the one with one dial and set programmes. Still 1967 is about the last year these machines were made.
