Recall that I do assemblage sculpture pieces from vacuum cleaners, etc. It is my policy, when encountering something unusual, to post a pic before I destroy it. Is there any reason I should not destroy this machine turning it into fine art?

Irreplaceable Artifacts

Landfills are full of irreplaceable artifacts from by-gone eras. There has to be more criteria than irreplaceable.

...for example,

Here is a Universal Vacuum Cleaner that I destroyed (arguably). It is a question of which "value" should win the day. The reason I post the pic is in case there is someone out there who has a special/personal interest that I should take into consideration.

Like the humane society...

...if no one adopts, you put it down. Because I have (even temporarily) saved a machine (like the Magic-Aire) from the landfill doesn't mean that I am now obligated to preserve it as a vacuum cleaner. No one is going to hang that millstone around my nibbled neck.

Paging Fred, please...................

Rocketwarrior,  "Magic Aire" sounds like it might of been a door to door type sales scheme.  Please give the folk's over at vacuum land over the weekend to evaluate it's significance.  The lettering has that deco look it might be from the 1930's It was nice of you to post the machine.  Thanks.  alr2903

It is a unique vacuum,
.... but ebay and such gets flooded with these all the time. They aren't nessisarly valuable. I would say only valuable to anyone who may have knew someone with one.
