i decided to tear into the g.e. mobile maid tonite also, ran into a major snag. got the motor and pump off the machine in one peice and got the outer pump housing off as well. then i ran into problems.
i never liked g.e. and always found them to be a pain to work on. this mobile maid is no exception. the design of the wash impeller is that it fits over the motor shaft a good distance and after 47 years or so (we are guessing it to from 1962) it is not budging! one bit!
i have soaked it in pb blaster, and tried to gently pry it up. i don't want to use too much force or it will surely break.
but the problems go deeper than this stubborn impeller.
