Hey Kevin, those sound really great!   Thank you for including the recipe!

My only concerned is the added sugar.   Though I suppose the "smokey / sweet / hot" all works beautifully together.   I will just have to try it and see.

Thanks again!

Kevin

I like the added brown sugar, hen again I have always loved sweet BBQ flavors!

Last Christmas we tried a recipe that was nearly identical to this one, except the tots were replaced with little sausages.

Man were they delicious, although my arteries may not have fully cleared out yet...

Kevin - you can omit the brown sugar if you like. I would double the amount of chili powder and pepper so you will have enough to coat all the tots. While you won't get the sweetness, you will still get the smoky and the spicy!

Yummy. Just like candied bacon wrapped around a tot. I wonder what putting chopped, toasted pecans on them would do. Where's Paula Deen when you need her.

I should NOT have watched that video at almost 2 AM!! Now I'm drooling!
You would have to keep me away from those, I would have that whole tray polished off in a flash.

Thanks all - these were tasty tots! We got about five dozen total, so not the entire bag. We made hash browns out of the left over tots for breakfast the next day. They didn't last long, but then bacon is a very easy sell in our house ;-)

Kevin...

Those do look very good and very easy to make. I'd probably use wide foil so the entire pan was covered. Coating the rack with a non-stick spray might make cleanup a little easier. Of course, like all professional chefs, you don't concern yourself with cleanup and besides, I understand Ralph was a former "Merry Maid" employee.
