Making Creamy Mushroom Rice

So when I found bags of Spanish pearl rice marked down at Kroger for 25 cents a bag, I bought four bags!! Now what to do with all this rice?? It's wonderful rice - really meant to be used in paella but great for other things, too, so we made this dish that features lots of great mushroom flavor. A great side, but I could almost eat it as a main course! We love mushroom anything!

Hmm it does sound good.. Now I'm wondering if I can make it in my rice cooker,, after sauteing the other ingredients first. I bought the thing a number of years ago and have only recently started using it. Itt has a couple of settings for congee rice which is like rice porridge.
