Making Oatmeal Macaroons

These cookies are from a cookbook that was put out by the Junior League of Baton Rouge called "River Road Recipes." The cookbook came out in 1959 - my copy is from the early 60's, but it is still in print and sells well.

Ralph loves anything oatmeal, so this one caught our eye - these are good cookies! Why they call them macaroons I'm not sure - no egg whites, no coconut...anyone know?

Frigidaire Oven!

I always thought the open coil units with the evenizer baffle baked better, how are you doing with the Frigidaire, I love it!

Oatmeal cookies are my very favorite! Another great recipe Kevin!! I'll have to make this twice, one with raisons, one without... been gaining weight lately with all these awesome videos that I just have to try... that Steak Au Poivre was a huge hit around here!

I think you could make a video of dropping a bullion cube in a cup of hot water and it would still be entertaining, provided the background music was good. By the way, that oven looks as clean as the day that little Frigidaire came out of the box.

Hans - to answer your question about the Frigidaire baking better, this one does a wonderful job. The GE it replaced was also a very good baking oven, but this Frigidaire is the most accurate oven I have encountered. When it's set at 350, it holds at 350 - it's not off by more than one degree.

I Agree!

And also, the Frigidaire and Westinghouse ranges seem to be insulated better, they dont get nearly as warm on the outside as some others do...But I also agree, GEs and Hotpoints bake very well too.
