Here's one that my mom used to make all the time. It's easy and so yummy - plus it gives me a chance to use one of my electric skillets!

I love swiss steak grew up on it and could not wait for that day to eat dinner. That and pop overs was a day I loved the most.

Another great video. I love using countertop cooking appliances. I'm inviting friends over for a "diner food" meal so this Swiss Steak looks perfect. All these cooking video/recipes just pile the pounds on me. I'm glad I live where a mumu is fashionable all year.

Kevin, this looks like another one of your Man-Pleasing recipes that I will have to try!

When I saw this thread I thought,, geeze i used to make that quite often in my GE pan years ago and was hoping you were going to use one lol.. Been a loooong time since I've made it too.

Pretty much the only difference was I used slices of green pepper rather than celery.

This Looks Good!

Its a little like what we call country style steak,I use cube steak a lot as its easy on the budget, i often times brown it well, just as you did, then slice a big onion over it and add a can or two of Hunts tomato sauce and simmer it an hour or so, For country style, I do the same browning, but only add water instead of the tomato sauce, add chopped onions, turn it very low and let it cook about two hours until it makes a thick gravy...old country cooking is all this is!!!It calls for a pan of hot biscuits, mashed potatoes and green beans cooked with some ham!!

Doug - how right you are...this is a real man pleaser! One of my favorite cookbooks is called, "Dishes Men Like."

Hans - I know cube steak is used for country fried steak, which I really love. But your country style steak with the tomato sauce sounds yummy! I will have to give it a try!

Another use for my Hoover electric fry pan

Kevin ... that looks wonderful. Possibly it will be simmeering in the Hoover this weekend. Yes, that does sound strange, simmering in the Hoover but the Hoover is a great classic electric frypan with the broiler in the top.

Soooooooo...

tasty looking!! Have to make it this week, thanks!

I'm sure it's American, seems like of similar to schnitzel which usually uses veal or pork cutlets in breading, wonder if that's how it got the swiss in it...

What's that album? Love it, it sounded familiar, very 1962, I was 12 then!

Thanks for the dinner idea!

Made it last night for dinner. Added bell pepper and tomatos as we like them and did it in the e;ectric pressure cooker. Came out great as usual Kevin. Had mashed potatos and green beans along with the vegatables cooked with the steak.

I did this recipe last night, except I didn't use cube steak. Instead I used ground chuck that I mixed with some bread crumbs and egg, then rolled the patty in flour and cooked as you demonstrated.
Marv-o-lus.

HI Kevin

Kevin, I made this the other night for dinner. We had a guest so I took out my Saladmaster electric pan and cooked this. I used cube steaks and all of the other ingredients that you used. I served it with noodles and asparagus for the veg. Wow, was this good! Not a bite was left. I am going to make this again and try my Danish potatoes with it. Have fun. Gary
