Here is the latest idea from the wicker bottom boat company. Never mind all of the poultry poop from the mega farms on the Delmarva Penninsula that washes into the Chesapeake Bay and the fertilizer, cow, pig and horse waste run off from the Amish farms along the Susquehanna River in PA, the Maryland legislature is working on a law that will reduce the phosphate in dishwasher detergents to 1 percent. Everyone in the food service industry & detergent industry howled, so the law won't take effect until 2009, by which time, the companies might make better detergents with less phosphate.

Oh, Lord...

It's getting crazy. Trans fats are illegal in some places, but people don't have any trouble buying AK-47s. Lawmakers seem to be able to pass any legislation EXCEPT the laws we actually need.

The Wicker Bottom Boat Company is right.

hmm...

I wonder, in suburban America, what kills more people... AK-47s or transfats?

How about we ban both transfats AND AK-47s?

Jus' sayin. 8-)

As for phosphate free dish detergent, thats dumb, especially since you noted the other crap that ends up in the watershed.

Give me phosphates or give me.....

For those of us that live in areas that have extremely hard water, phosphates or phosphate additives are very necessary. (It's just like when the Federal gov't banned lead in gasoline. While that's good for the environment, it sure makes the older premium-running cars perform very poorly... ergo "gas additives". So are we gaining anything when we don't burn lead, but burn other agents and put them into the air???).

I'm all for saving the earth, but c'mawn (NY accent) there are somethings that, while should be regulated, shouldn't be banned all together.

**AK-47s and semi-automatic weapons on the other hand, are completely different.**

I think we will find the transfats are more hazardous than the AK47-I am OPPOSED TO ANY threats to my 2Nd Amendment rights-this includes AK47s-have a couple in my gun collection. Its not the GUN that is the problem-but the PERSON holding it!Lets get those OTHER ASSAULT weapons--criminals-off the streets!

AK-47s????What about tobacco products????Just yesterday at work,a customer came and sat at the picnic table that's there souly for Home Depot employees who do not smoke and lit one up.I tried to let her know nicely that the law states there is no smoking anywhere less than 50 yards from our store due to the flamable fluids and lumber we carry.I also showed her the two tables that were assigned to smokers. She had a fit.So I used my own hidden weapon and let out a screaming loud fart.As soon as she said "you're discusting!",I said "Thank you!that's exactly what I wanted to say about you." "Now you know what your second hand smoke smells like to me!"

Oh Chuck, you didn't!! You farted at her?? That must have been hysterical. I don't think there are any laws against farting, are there? Smoking, however, is a different story! I wish I had been there to see the look on her face.
