Has anyone tried Mas Detergent from Henkel? I will be traveling down to the Permian Basin for work tomorrow and was planning to go to Sam's and pick up some more Ariel Liquid detergent while I'm there. I went to Sam's web site this evening and found that they now sell MAS - one variant for colors and one variant for darks. I have only seen this product once before when I was in Mexico a few years ago. I'm not sure about the quality, but apparently it has about 40% of the detergent market in Mexico according to the Henkel web site.

It's interesting how Sam's carries different products for different markets. The only Mexican laundry product our Sam's carries here in Lubbock is Suavitel softener, but if you travel only 2 hours Southwest of here to the Midland/Odessa area, they have a wide range of them. My favorite so far is Ariel liquid, which smells amazing (a nice, clean scent vs. a strong floral scent). I even have some of my friends hooked on Ariel, and we go in search of it at Sam's Club when we travel to places like San Antonio, El Paso and Albuquerque.

I may be significantly adding to my already extensive detergent collection tomorrow, so I thought I'd see if anyone here has used it before I purchase such large bottles of the stuff. I will also stop by a HEB tomorrow, and I'm really hoping to find some Mexican Persil!

As I've seen...

Suavidad is not Henkel's brand of a fabric softener but just meaning softness.

Reminds me of

O soave fanciulla, but the maiden is not soft, just lovely. Few if any could make love soar like Puccini.

More to the point, is MAS a liquid? I would not want to use it because it would remind me of that pathetic character Massimo in the Wedding Planner. Then there are other occasions of someone gasping O Mas! Mas y Mas, but that was not washing, just agitation.

No, I've just tried the 123 and Viva mexican detergent from Henkel.
I especially liked the Viva powder that I love so much!
123 is also good, it does have the same Fox mascotte of the German Spee and italian General and Spanish Dixan...
Never tried Mas detergent though.
But looks like it comes only in liquid formula, and I dislike liquids....so I think I will never....

Not sure of the data about being the 40% of mexican market, probably it refers to liquid types and or the 40% only among all the ones produced by henkel....
I thought the best seller in Mexico was Ariel....followed by most known such as Foca, Roma, Pinol, 123 and Viva.
This Mas is too much an "unknown" brand to be such famous IMO....also looks like in Mexico they do prefer mostly powders...this is just what I could read about mexico...not fully sure about this.
Also not sure about popularity of Persil in Mexico....
I should try some mexican Persil...it does have the same "Oro" quality symbol you find in the italian Dixan (which is the Italian name of the Henkel Persil)...
I'm not sure the mex Persil is the same thing of German Henkel Persil...likely not.
Often even if name is the same, products and scents are totally different from country to country, for istance the mexican Ariel is way better on everything than the British, German or Spanish Ariel and scent changes alot....like Italian Dixan is different from the Spanish one....
