Before anyone asks, yes Westinghouse really did commission a 6 1/2 minute film to push two pieces of sheet metal with wallpaper stuck on it.

And to answer the other question, yes the dancing is necessary while you ruin your perfectly good refrigerator.

Now I just need to figure out what person in their right mind would want their refrigerator to match their apparel.

I Imagine if you used as strip-able wallpaper you could change it back anytime you wanted to. Now if you used "Kontact Paper" that would be a LOT harder to do. I kind of like the idea. But that video is ssssooooo 60's. I think it was just a design exercise.

Surftex Black

Now we know who first discovered the horrors of black kitchen appliances.

Can I just have a WHITE Westinghouse fridge--and not one that looks like something out of a bad dream.I think Mr Handy was high on something when this film was made. And how can the woman make accurate measurements to her fridge panels and wallpaper while dancing around? And with this--they suggest you make your fridge the life of your next party!!That music was truely WEIRD!!!And-will your fridge magnets still work with all that decorating-Guess some are right your fridge is a seasonal bulletin board!

WH Custom Refergerator Panels

Most of the panels shown came pre-finished, and if you wanted wall paper or contact paper or wherever , you applied it to the back of the optional panel, not directly to the refrigerator.

Personally while the ad is dated and a little corny I love the idea of customizing your appliances, and if I never saw another white appliance I would never complain.
After working on almost nothing white appliances for forty years white would never be a desired choice for a major appliance for me, LOL.

Didn't you guys watch Lost in Space or I Dream of Jeannie? They were always dancing around doing stuff in the 60's.

I mean, they even danced during shoot-outs in the 60's! And I missed it all!
