Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Well, have the dryer apart and just examined the shaft that is connected to the drum. Everything looks good with little wear. Even the rubber washers are soft. My question is what type of lube / grease / oil do I use to lubricate the shaft and the interior in which the shaft goes into?

641C Belts

Not a collector, but admire how well built it is and the simple design of this dryer.
Helping a friend stop the belts from squeaking. It looks to us like the belts are both too short, because the idler is out of position.

The belts installed are 3-11013 & 3-11012.
Are these the correct size ?

Thanks for any help

Rick

Drive Belts

Thanks for the quick reply.
On our dryer, the shaft on the picture in reply #4 of this thread is up too high, and can't slide down. I wondered if it was upside down, but it's the same as yours.

Thanks again

Drive Belts For MT HOH Dryer

You have the correct belts, when properly installed the shorter of the two belts goes from the idler pulley to the drum pulley, the longer belt from the motor, blower and around the large part of the idler pulley, this larger belt should be very loose, the shorter drum drive belt very tight. If your dryer still has the aluminum motor pulley try to find a replacement motor pulley, MT changed from the fast wearing aluminum motor pulleys on the later HOH dryers to steel pulleys to reduce slippage and performance problems.

Once the drum is reattached, next is taking care of the HOH and back of the dryer panel. You can see the dirty filter at left, in the pic. I believe I can use a furnace filter of the same size.
