Hi 1979 model and the chime/ bell is sounding like a big clunk.

What’s going on???

Plastic chime arm broke.

Good luck finding one, extremely rare.

LowEfficiency cranked some out on his printer but this was one of the last posts I've seen from him. Not sure what he's up to these days.

The Many Variants of the Maytag "Chime Actuator"

Anyone happen to know the logic behind Maytag's revisions of the "Chime Actuator" in the dryers (DE/DG 806, DE/DG 808, others?) over the years? The overall bracket arrangement seems to have been designed around a simple bent wire with a screw & nut. Later on, a molded flexible plastic part...

Take the 2 screws out of the top back panel, and see what's going on.

Mine clinks too 808 and the 608
