Maytag A-806 leaking from bottom of tub

Hello there,

Our Maytag A-806 hat started to leak. I took the front off, and it is coming from the bottom of the tub.

We’re about 2 hours from the nearest repair service, and I’m afraid they’re going to tell me we need a new machine. Any thoughts on what may be causing this leak, and how hard is. It to fix?

Where exactly is the source of the leak?

If leaking from tub bearing on top of the trans it needs a new stem seal kit and probably a new tub bearing.

Big job but doable for a motivated DIY'er. There are lots of videos and thread available on the subject.

If it’s coming from the center then it’s the tub seal. I have a complete “rebuild” kit available on my website.

UPDATE: still leaky

I finally had a chance to look at my leaky Maytag. It’s seems to becoming mostly from the thing underneath the tub (but we all know how weird water can be).
