I have a Maytag A107 that won't spin or agitate. The two belts appear to be okay but the one for the tub doesn't spin while the one for the water pump does spin during the spin cycle. Water will drain out of the inner tub during the spin cycle. Looking at the bottom, I can pull the belts counterclockwise but not clockwise. Moving the belts counterclockwise will turn the inner tub. I believe clockwise is the normal direction for operation. I'm not sure if this is brake problem or a transmission problem or something else. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I solved my problem. I called a service guy to find out his rates. I described the problem and he said either the tub bearings went out or a sock could be stuck between the inner and outer tub. I found sock stuck between the inside upper rim of the inner tub and outer tub. Now it works fine.
I love it when a plan comes together.....
