Maytag A700 HELP NEEDED

Folks I got Revvinkevin's Maytag A700 washer. It's in nearly pristine condition., plus nes motor gliders, new belts and new drain pump.

However, I need some help.

1) could anybody share with me the wire colors for the wash temp push button, switch/rinse temp selector and fill solenoids?

I have either cold or hot, but not warm. And rinse also works only one (I don't remember it the automatic or the cold).

2) is there any way I could get a new valve that would be 100% compatible? (Just in case). It is with the original triple valve, but leaking.. Kevin gave me a second valve, but we're not sure it works and I haven't tried it yet.

3) Could anybody guide me through the lights wiring? Kevin got that washer with all theblight wiring (tub, panel, and dial) disconnected, so I need to redo it. Also, I noticed a small transformer that looks like a doorbell transformer. It's in bad shape, all rusted..... any advice on updating it to something newer?

4) finally, but not least, does anybody know the size of the bleach dispenser cover o-ring?

Is the water vale a standard 2 solenoid, or is it a 3 solenoid value?

3 solenoid.

qsd-dan may be able to help, not really versed with the 3 solenoid valve as opposed to the standard valves used on the later Maytags.

Ok, did some reverse engineering and managed to make valve work YAY.

But... the rinse tem selector... nope. Only auto, cold does noting, which is intriguing.

Is this the Maytag A700 Kevin owned many years ago, or is it an entirely different Maytag A700?

Do you have the wiring diagram that would have come with the machine, or the service manual? If not, here’s a screenshot from the service manual, showing the wiring for the rinse switch.

Maytag three solenoid inlet valves

On these machines, you have one solenoid for hot one for cold each of which gives you whatever temperature is coming from your water supply lines in your home.

Then there is a warm solenoid, which gives you approximately 100° where it blends the hot and cold incoming water together to keep it as close as possible, I think it varies about 5° plus or minus depending on various factors. So you should have between 95 and 105° water entering the machine when the warm solenoid is energized.

This system is unique and that you only have one solenoid energized at any time, this type of valve also would allow a cool temperature or a medium temperature between warm and hot, but Maytag did not choose to use this Possible temperature.

The three solenoid valves can be repaired with the same parts that repair the typical dole inlet valves with two solenoids. You just need an extra diaphragm kit.

Thanks all! Solenoid issue was 100% solved.

Now only issue is lights.

Yes, it was the same from Kevin's video from a few years ago.

I don't have any service manual for this or any Maytag top load washer. Only manual I have is for the front load washer-dryer combo.
