Found the ad.
It's an "old-style" direct-drive, not a VMW. There are no cycle progress indicator lights. All VMWs are computer-controller, not a mechanical timer, and have cycle lights.
There were many center-timer direct-drive Maytag-branded models produced between the time Whirlpool bought Maytag and the end of direct-drive production.
