What are the differences between the various Maytag round blue-bar wringer washers in the N-series (i.e. the model N2, the model N2L, the model N2LS, etc.)?

Perhaps someone has an old catalog they could scan, that shows the differences between these models in the N-series?

Please refer to this thread, your answer lies within......

How Old is This Maytag Washer

Hi,

I am thinking about buying this Maytag washer. I am wondering how old it is. I can find the square model, however, not with this specific Maytag red script nametag. Please help.

Thanks,

Kellie

The full serial number would indeed be helpful. With that we can get you down to a year and month of production.

I can say with certainty from the logo and the agitation activator knob that it is 1955 or older.

I guess I'm wrong on this issue, then.

Can anyone tell me WITH CERTAINTY what year Maytag switched to the chrome plated agitate activator knob and the chrome letters for the logo on the E2L.  For some reason that change was linked to the 1955 switch to the black bakelite agitator in my mind.

I just found the answer to my question in my digital archives.

Drum roll......

Early 1959 is when the E2L got decked out with chrome.

Here is an entry from the April 1959 "Let's Talk Service".
